These are the elements of Jesus’ discussion with Nicodemus that we focus on this week.

Jesus set aside His divine prerogatives and walked this earth as man —

A perfect demonstration of what God intended man to be— the whole personality yielded to and occupied by God for Himself

Our world seems to be falling apart we are choosing up sides rather than living in communion and cooperation as God intends
We are working against one another, rather than working side by side

We as man love to point out the evil actions of others, then try to defend evil actions of those we align ourselves with.
We do these things because we think that the solution to our problem will be physical

WE MUST BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL NOT TO DESIRE A MESSIAH IN THE SAME IMAGE THE 1ST CENTURY JEWS WANTED – That caused them to miss him all together

IF THIS IS WHAT WE WANT – DISAPPOINTMENT WILL DRIVE US AWAY FROM THE TRUE

IF WE CAN GET PAST THIS …HOPE , JOY UNSPEAKABLE FULL OF GLORY WILL BE OURS

This passage provides us with an Introduction to the incredibly destructive power of pride
and the solution that Jesus provides raises men to unobtainable heights
