Don’t Resist The Reset

Hello everyone and thank you so much for joining me today. My name is Roderick caesar the third on the lead pastor of Bethel Gospel Tabernacle in Jamaica queens, new york and I’m so excited that you decided to join me for the full Gospel hour. Right here on Global seven. My prayers that you will be blessed. You’ll be encouraged and inspired by this message. Thank you so much for joining and God bless. So today I’m gonna be talking about the title of this message is don’t resist the reset. Don’t resist the reset. We’re still talking about the reset 32, ready reset. Go. Don’t resist the reset. We talked about, we just sang about new wine and new wine and this new wine has the concept of kind of out with the old in with the new. I believe that God wants to do something new in our lives, in our lives, not just in this church, not just uh, oh in Bethel Gospel Tabernacle, God is going to do something new in this house. No, no, no. We are the temple. God wants to do something new in, in his house, in in us as well. And I believe that God wants to do something fresh and new in our lives and that is why he is telling us to reset. That is why he is telling us to re adjust to get in line to do something new to walk in a new way. Sometimes we have to leave behind the old and that’s challenging. That’s difficult. That’s why the title is don’t resist the reset. We can say we can assess some things and we can say, okay, I don’t need this, I don’t need to carry that. I don’t need this person to walk along the journey with me. I can shift gears, I can cut some things off. I can cut maybe some people off. This has served its purpose and I can’t use it anymore and we can leave things behind that may cause a baggage or cause us to be tripped up as we move forward or try to move forward and there’s a learning curve when it comes down to embracing and becoming adjusted to the new thing because it’s not just something that, oh, I’m new. Boom, I got it, I shift gears and I’m walking differently and talking differently and all these different things are coming and everything is immediate. There’s a difference between Salvation and sanctification. Can I get an amen somebody? There’s a difference between saying, okay, lord forgive me of my sins, cleanse me of my own righteousness. Make me a new creation. I want to walk in the way you’ve called me to walk. Boom, you saved. You believe in the shed blood of jesus christ. You’re walking uh in this new thing called salvation. But sanctification. The shedding of the old skin. The shedding of the old flesh. The shedding of the old ways and the putting on of the new clothes that christ gives us is a whole different story. There’s a difference between that and the reset I believe is suggested to us for a reason. But oftentimes our comforts, oftentimes our desires. Oftentimes the things that we are familiar with. Oftentimes our fears can be, can cause us to be hesitant and cause us to resist the new thing that God is trying to do in us and for us. So let us not resist the reset. Let’s turn our attention to the text. I’ll be speaking today from the book of luke. Chapter five luke, chapter five versus 33 through 39 focusing on verses 37 through 39. But let’s start from verse 33 jesus is in a room with different people in the room Pharisees, uh some tax collectors and and these individuals, they say to him uh the disciples of john fast and they offer prayers and so do the disciples of the Pharisees. But your disciples eat and drink and jesus said to them, can you make wedding guests fast? While the bridegroom is with them. The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them and then they will fast in those days. He also told them a parable. No one tears a piece from a new garment and puts it on an old garment. If he does, he will tear the new and the piece from the new will not match the old and no one puts new wines are focused, no one puts new wine into old wine skins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled and the skins will be destroyed. But new wine must be put into fresh wine skins. And no one after drinking old wine desires new for he says, the old is good. Don’t resist the reset. Your Lord, I thank you so much for this time. I thank you for your word. I thank you for your people. I thank you because you’re a good God who loves us? You’re a good God who wants to see us embrace what you have for us. So I pray Lord that we would not be resistant, but that we would be receptive towards your will to, towards your way. We thank you. We praise you, we give you glory. We ask these things in jesus name. Amen, Amen. I bet when you log on today for service, you didn’t think we’d be talking about wine surprise. We’re talking about wine in the house of God, yes, in God’s house. And if you’re familiar with wine, this is a puzzling parable because usually it’s older wine or wine that’s more age that was celebrated and desired. And he says, Oh I have that, you know, 2021, you’re trying to say, Okay, what’s an older wine that’s more celebrated or what’s desired, but Jesus flips it around and says, look, I’m not about that old one, I’m about this new wine and this new wine that I’m about must be placed somewhere new, look that old wine, that’s that’s fine and all, that’s great and all for the time that it was for, but this new one, that’s what I’m about and the new wine has to be placed somewhere new. So let’s examine this for a moment there, asking jesus, what they’re really asking him is about rituals, about prayer, about fasting and as we know, we just came off of the fast. There’s nothing wrong with prayer, there’s nothing wrong with fasting. We just finished our, our fast and finishing our prayer today, now is the time to fast because if we look at jesus response, it shows us that now is the time to fast, they’re saying jesus, john’s disciples, they engaged in these, in these disciplines, in these rituals, uh the Pharisees have disciples as well and they engage in fasting, but your disciples are here eating, your disciples are here chilling, Your disciples are having a good time. Meanwhile we have a growling stomachs, what’s going on and look at jesus response, he says to them, can you make a wedding guest fast while the bridegroom? It’s uh it’s basically saying while the groom is with them, the days will come, when the bridegroom is taken away from them, then they will fast in those days, so he’s saying look, if you’re at a wedding and everyone’s having a great time uh is the bright, if the groom is with them, are they gonna be like, no, no I’m not eating today. No, no, they’re going to show a respect for the wedding and everything and dive right in and say okay we’re going to eat why? Because the the the bridegroom is with them, but when the bride groom is taken away from them, when jesus says I am the groom, I am the groom and the church is my bride, I am with the disciples. So they don’t need to fast but the time will come when I won’t be here and when that time comes then they will fast then they will draw near to me, then they will get closer to me. It’s not about the ritual, it’s not about what I do to get attention and and and how I say I’m fasting for this long, oh look at me, no, it’s not about this ritual, it’s about engaging in relationships. So he says the time will come when I will leave, the bride groom me is the groom and the bride of christ will fast because I’m not with them then they will fast in those days, but right now they don’t have need to fast. So jesus, the groom has ascended, that’s why we fast now and that’s what jesus was trying to communicate, but those who didn’t have eyes to see or ears to hear, did not understand who jesus was and did not understand what he was called to do, they didn’t get it, they didn’t grasp it. So when he comes preaching the kingdom, the Kingdom of God is at hand, the Kingdom of God is at hand repent and believe repent and believe he comes preaching the kingdom, he comes preaching a new covenant. It disrupts what these good jews of the day hold dear, It takes everything that they believe that they’re holding onto and flips it and turned it on its head, Jesus says, the Kingdom of God is at hand repent, Jesus says, I’ve come to make a new covenant. They say, oh no, we we new covenant, what is all that? No, no, no, we like the old covenant just fine, thank you. The laws of moses, that’s that’s what we’re about. This, this new covenant, no, no, no, no, no, we don’t want any parts of it, we don’t want any dealings with it, Jesus says, I’ve come to to to proclaim the new kingdom. The Kingdom of God is at hand and the jews say, oh no, no, no, we we like this old kingdom just fine thank you, The Kingdom of David, that’s what we’re about. Well we’ll get to this new kingdom wants the messiah gets here and jesus is like, hey what’s up, I’m him, I’m that guy and the guy you’ve been looking for the guy, you’ve been waiting for the messiah and they couldn’t, they couldn’t contain what Jesus was presenting, what Jesus was bringing what Jesus was giving because their hearts and minds were still tied to the old wine skins, were still processing it with the old wine skins. What they need is what we need and that is new wine skins. Now wine skins is a pouch that’s usually a animal skin usually uh it’s animal skin usually like a goat skin and it contains liquid or fluid for people to to drink. Now let’s talk science just for a little bit about fermentation and wine and things of that nature fermentation is any metabolic process in which microorganisms activity creates a desirable change in food and beverages, whether it’s increasing the flavor or preserving foods or providing health benefits or even more, it’s the chemical breakdown of a substance by bacteria, yeast or other microorganisms typically involving for ff pheasants or fizz uh in the liquid that gives off some sort of heat. So it’s a breakdown of these uh this process in which the activity of the microorganisms creates a desirable change in food or beverages. And during this fermentation process uh these things are are broken down into a different form and oil. Excuse me. An old wine. What we’ve realized is it’s it’s it’s already fermented and so what we, what we see here in the text is that when, when wine ferments it expands and when they would pour the old wine into the. Excuse me. When they would pour the then new wine into the new wine skin before it became old, it would expand and expand and the wine skin would expand to hold this wine and then this wine would then become old wine because it was expanded and had the wine skin expanded to as as far as it could go and it couldn’t expand any longer. And so they would be fine with this old wine and it’s a wonderful thing is great, there’s, there’s nothing wrong with it. But when jesus comes on the scene and says, I have something new, the old wine had completed fermenting. It wasn’t expanding anymore. The new wine is still fermenting, it’s still expanding. So if they were to say, okay, you know what, let’s just pour this new wine into these old wine skins. The old wine skins are expanded to capacity. So if they’re going to, if the old wine skin gets new wine in it, it’s going to expand even more and won’t contain it and will burst and make a mess and the new wine will be all over the place. That’s why jesus says, no, no, this new wine must be poured into something that can hold it into fresh wine skins. Not old wine skins that are expanded to as as big as they can go when they’re gonna burst and make a mess. But new wine must be poured into fresh wine skins. And so what we realized is that God wants to make, yes new wine out of us. And uh we’re praying, Lord jesus make new wine out of me. But new wine must be flowing from a vessel that’s new. The wine skins have to be new in order to receive the wine that God is trying to produce. And we can’t walk into a new spirit or a new season with an old mindset. We cannot do that because the old mindset has expanded to capacity. It can’t grow anymore, it can’t take new shape anymore. And that’s the thing, the fermentation is done, there’s no more fizzing, there’s no more bubbling, there’s there’s there’s none of that. And and what we realized is we need a new mind, a new heart as we walk through this thing. It’s not just about all an outward appearance. God do something new in my life, do something new in my, in my life, do something new in my marriage or something new in my Children, do something new in my, in my faith walk. But then we walk in with the same mindset. We need a new mind that’s that’s, that thinks new things, a new tongue that speaks new things, A new heart that beats for the newness of God. We need the fresh wind of God, a fresh outpouring of his spirit in our lives, breathe with me for a moment, Take a seat, take a deep breath, inhale, exhale one more time, inhale, exhale the breath, as long as there is breath in your lungs. God is not done as long as there is breath in your lungs God is not done. God is not done growing you. God is not done shaping you. God is not done changing you. God is not done reorganizing you. God has not done turning your life around. God has not done fermenting you. God has not done molding you. He’s not done breaking you down and he’s not done building you up. He has not done walking with you through the valleys. He has not done walking with you through the fire. He has not done walking with you through the water. He has not done walking through with you through life’s challenges. God is not done as long as there is breath in your lungs. God has not done. The problem is, many of us are like the old wine and we say, oh, we’re good, we’re done fermenting, we’re fine, everything is good. But then God wants to do something new and we’re not ready to pivot. We’re not ready to adjust. We’re not willing to shift because we’re comfortable with this old wine. And the old wine was wonderful because it got us through this particular season. It got us through a particular place. The law that moses established was fine until that time, up until that time when jesus came and said, I have something new. The old law was suffices, but then jesus came to bring a new thing to do a new thing to fulfill the law and the prophets. And so what we realized is that by rejecting jesus by resisting the reset, they were saying staying stuck to the old ways. And for us we have to realize that God is not done with us. He’s not finished with us. We may say, okay, I’m done fermenting in this season. I’m good. I I know what I’m good. I got my my I know I’m gonna do this. I know I’m going to do that. Everything’s falling into place. Everything is good. And then God comes with a fresh wind, fresh word. I got like hold up. You mean I gotta learn again. You have got to relearn this. I don’t know. I thought I was good. But as long as there’s breath in your lungs, God is not done. Everyone who would consider themselves to be a seasoned ST right? AARP card came in the mail. If you turn to Joshua, chapter 14 right? It’s a tough it’s a tough pill to swallow. But one that we all must someday. So Joshua 14, chapter 10 Caleb is speaking because he’s finally Joshua. And Caleb Caleb is finally walking into the promise that God established for him when he and Joshua stood up against the many other uh spies that said no, no, no the land is not good. He and Joshua said, no, this land is good, we can take it. But they have to wait in the wilderness all those years. And they’re finally walking into the promise. And Caleb says, this plot of land I want for me and for my family. And watch what Caleb says, he says. And now behold the Lord has kept me alive just as he said these 45 years since the time that the word that the Lord spoke, this word to moses while Israel walked in the wilderness. And now behold I am this day, 85 years old and I am still as strong today as I was in the day, moses sent me. My God and my strength now is as my strength was then for war and for going and coming. So now give me the hill country where the Lord spoke on that day. For you heard on that day how the anna kim were there with great fortified cities, that it may be that the Lord will be with me and I shall drive them out just as the Lord had said. Now, listen to this. This is someone who has lived a life who has lived a life walking in cycles and circles because of the disobedience of others. But yet not yet not abandoning faith in God. He’s not resentful. He’s not bitter. He’s not despondent. He’s not cast away to despair. But instead he’s in this new season and walking in it with as much zeal as he had when he was younger with as much energy as he had when he was younger. When the word first came to him so much so that he’s still ready to go to battle for what’s his no matter what your age, even if you are older in age, God is not done with you. He’s not saying, oh you’re your best years are behind you, you’re better. Years are behind you. There are still conquering to be done. There are still battles to be fought. There are still wars to be raged and God is with you in the process. If we only had the ability, the strength, the zeal, the mindset, the focus to trust him because he’s doing something, still doing something new for those of us that are looking forward to a longer life. But haven’t yet crossed that threshold yet. If you look at Philippians chapter three verses 12 through 16 the bible says not that I have already obtained this, or am I already perfect, but I press on to make it my own because christ has made it his own. I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do, I forget what lies behind strain forward to what lies ahead. I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of christ in God. Let those of us who are mature think of this way and if any of you think otherwise God will reveal that to you also only let us hold true to what we have obtained. You have not arrived. You have not arrived because you may be established to have a nice career, you have this, that we’re still working towards something, you’re still straining towards something, still moving towards something you have not arrived. Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, I press on paul says, I do not consider that I have made it my own, but I forget what lies behind many of us. We get tied up on the successes of the past, but we have to realize that God wants to have a strain towards more in our future. And if you’re a younger believer first timothy 4 12 paul writes to his protege, he says, let no one despise your youth but set the believers an example in speech in conduct in love and faith and purity. He doesn’t say let no one despise your youth youth but focused on these believers and and there will be a good example for you. Yeah, that may be true, there may be a time and place to focus on other believers and have mentors and that’s a beautiful thing. That is what we call discipleship and walking with others. But he says to timothy, he says, you be the example, you be the one that sets the example for believers in speech and conduct and love and faith and purity. So if you’re younger, you can still be examples for those that are coming up and that this, this this verse is something that uh for me, I hold to pastoring a multigenerational church realizing that, okay yeah, like a individuals that I’m preaching to watch me grow up, watch me come up, but this is something that I could still be an example, I could still be a light, I could still be a witness, I could still walk in a certain way that that lifts christ up before myself and I say all this to say what that as long as there is breath in your lungs, God is not done, but also in every single season of life, God is still working. In every single season of life, God is still working, whether you’re uh doing fine or whether things are terrible, God is still working, whether you’re young or whether you’re older, God is still working, whether you’re single or whether you’re married, God is still working, whether you have a job or whether you’re unemployed, God is still working, God is always working no matter the season at every stage, God is working at every age, God is working, God is not going to stop working, he’s still working, our work is never done, his work is never done, so our work is never done, we’re not done fermenting, we’re not done being more like him, we go from, as it says in second Corinthians from one degree of glory to another, the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom and we all with unveiled face beholding the glory of the Lord are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. You don’t get to one degree of glory and say, all right, I’m good, I’ll park right here. God, I’m good because that one degree of glory becomes old glory and that God wants to do something new and something fresh and you’re saying I’m good right here guys like no, I have, I have this one degree of glory to another. I want to do something new, something fresh, commit to the fact that we cannot be done growing until we are like him until we are like him first, john chapter three versus one and two what kind of love the father has given to us that we should be called Children of God. And so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him beloved. We are God’s Children now and what we will be has not yet appeared, but we know that when he appears, we shall be like him because we shall see him as he is. We have to continue to grow until that verse becomes a reality. We have to continue to grow until he appears and we see him with our natural eyes as he is. It seems like uh something that is so far off, but it could be even today until we can see him as he is. We have to commit to growth, commit to not resisting the reset, but embracing the new thing, as long as there is breath in these lungs. God, it’s not done. Say that in the chat. If you want something new, I want you to type brand new, brand new, brand new, brand new, brand new, brand new, brand new, brand new, execute. It’s cute to want something brand new, it’s nice to want something brand new. It was typical. So maybe want something brand new. There’s another thing to do what it takes to obtain it. It’s another thing to do what it takes to sustain it. It’s another thing to do what it takes to walk in it and to be in position to them receive it, Jesus says in Luke chapter 5: verse 33. It’s so interesting how he talks about old wine and new wine. New wine has to be put into new wine skins. If not, it’s all gonna burst. So we need new wine skins for the new wind, we must become new people to receive this new kingdom, Have a new mindset to see what God is trying to do the new thing and then he ends it with this. No one after drinking old wine desires new for he says the old is good. I said wait a minute. This. This just un does everything. You just said No one after drinking old wine desires new for he says the old is good. He’s taking a jab at the Pharisees of the day. And then ultimately human nature because they taste this new one and say, nah, no, no, no, I like the old covenant better. I like that old old old covenant better. None of this new thing that you’re trying to do, jesus. No, we’re not about that. Crucify him, crucify him. We want we want the old covenant, we want the old ways back because the flesh loves what’s familiar. Same for us. We love what’s familiar. I’m comfortable here. I’m nozzle here. I’ll get up and go to a place that I’ll show you, wait a minute. What? Abraham Get up. Yeah, you get up and go to this place that I’ll show you. Leave your family, leave your language, leave your loved ones, leave everything you’re comfortable with and go to this random place and set up shop here. The flesh wants to stay in earth. The flesh wants to stay in the areas that are comfortable because it loves what’s familiar. But God calls us to something new. It takes faith to step out in something new. Do not resist the reset. Do not resist the reset. If you do studies on on churches, on business, different things. They say the seven last words of a dying church business there. I say maybe marriage job relationship, whatever is, we’ve never done it that way before. We’ve never done it that way before, afraid to try new things, afraid to step out and faith afraid to step out and something new and adjust, afraid to, to do something different, it’s what happens. Blockbusters wrapping a Kodak, wrapping a Polaroid. The list can go on and on. Blockbuster was doing just fine. Next netflix came along what we need to as people be open to growing and not resisting the reset that God is trying to bring in our lives. We need to embrace the new three points and I’m closing out to embrace the new first and foremost. You have to be willing to prepare for it. You have to be willing to prepare to embrace the new, You have to be willing to prepare. It’s nice to say, Yeah, God, I want something new, I want something brand new. It’s another thing to be into position to get into position and prepare for it because if we don’t, we’ll be unable to hold the blessing, unable to hold the new thing that God is doing, unable to hold it. And it’s what does it say? If new wine is poured into old wine skins, it’s gonna burst and make a mess all over the place. You don’t want to make a mess of the miracle, You don’t want to make a mess of the blessing. You want to be in a position to be a good steward of what God does. So when that door opens, you can walk right through it when that house, uh, when you get the keys to the house, you can walk right through it. When things happen uh with your, when you finally say I do, and put the ring on their finger, you can have a healthy marriage, You can practice good habits with your finances. You have to prepare. It’s all in the preparation. Saints of God. Many of us we think that prayer prayer, prayer, Prayer, Prayer, that’s it. But you have to prepare and pray. The new thing can come crashing down. If we don’t, we have to prepare for the new thing. God rarely in scripture. Do we see there? I say, never gives something to someone, whether it be a responsibility of position, whatever to someone that wasn’t in some way in shape or some form prepared for it. God told Adam to work the ground before Eve showed up. He gave Adam a job to work the ground. And if you look at what husbandry, it’s a term that talks about plants and cultivating and growing. And God told Adam care for this garden and then brought evil law, he was prepared. So when that union took place, things could be different moses was a shepherd. Now granted the areas of that he became a shepherd or kind of murky, killed a man and ran off, but still got to use that difficult season in shepherding to train and prepare moses as he led the sheep to lead God’s people out of Egypt and through the wilderness joseph? It was all about himself? All about his dreams? This dream I had. Yeah, y’all was bound down to baby. All hell joseph went through a pit and learn to treat people right while in prison before he got to the palace. Samuel served in the house of God alongside eli for years before he heard the word from the Lord Esther was given a mindset adjustment and had a time of prayer. A time of fasting. A time of seeking the face of the Lord before she was bold enough to break protocol and speak with the king? Mhm. We’re saying all other ground is sinking sand. Are you laying the ground for what you’re praying for? If you’re praying for a marriage for a spouse, are you single and trying to seek after God and single and celibate? Are you single and attaching yourself to different people or different images if you’re married and you’re praying for a better relationship with your spouse? Are you running from difficult conversation? Are you running from healthy intimacy with your spouse? If you’re a parent and you’re praying for your kids, are you running from spending alone time with your kids? Because everything is too filled up your schedules too busy? Yeah. Mhm. If you want more money in your bank account? What are you doing with what you have now? Are you spending wisely and responsibly. Are you, are you uh saving systematically and investing this week was kind of crazy with Gamestop and and everything with investing But realizing that what we are praying for, we have to prepare for if we say okay, you know, I want to be in shape. Are we exercising our we dieting? Is your preparation match your prayers or is there a disconnect your preparation? Match your prayers? Or is there a disconnect to embrace the new? We must prepare to embrace the new, secondly, we must be willing to change. This is important, this is important. You have to be willing to change. Why is this important? Because I love, I love me, I love myself, we got to be willing to change and that’s difficult because we say, oh God, yes, you know Lord take me as I am God flaws and all and God says yeah, that’s that’s great but we’re gonna shift some things around. No God, I love these flaws and I was like, no, no, just just give me these chains real quick. Let me just break these God, but I love these chains? No, no, no. But you see that’s lust. You see what it’s doing to your other relationships. Do you do you do you see that that resentment, do you see what that’s doing to your ability to truly seek my face. You see that right there, that that that that that’s pride right there, Call it out right there. That’s pride. You see that, are you you think you’re able to get as close to me as we both want to be with that. We gotta lay some of these things down. But God it brings me so much comfort. It brings me so much. Yeah but you gotta be willing to change. You can’t prepare for change. And then when the new thing, that’s the thing we say okay we want a new thing, we want a new thing, we want a new thing. But the new thing is changed and as people were what creatures of habit? We love these routines. Oh I get up at this time, I got my this at this time, I have this at this time. We’re good. We’re locked in our routine. God comes through, shakes up the soda can opens and we’re like wait a minute, hold up. But God is all about the new you have to be willing to change Romans 12. I appeal to you therefore, brothers by the mercies of God. Present your bodies as a living sacrifice. Holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. If paul is saying present your body is wholly unacceptable, does that mean there’s a way that we can present ourselves to God? That’s unacceptable. We don’t like that. We don’t like that because we want to oh God, you know, take me as I am. However however it is God, I’m gonna I’m gonna come into the kingdom however it is God. But God is saying, you know, like there’s you have to change. There’s some changes that’s got to be made. I did not die for you to stay the same. The whole point is for you to become a new creation. Mm hmm. We want to stay the same. But God is all about the new. Therefore, if anyone is in christ, he is a new creation, the old has passed away. The new has come. That’s why I said there’s a difference between the salvation and sanctification. You can have the salvation but walking this thing out flushing this thing out is different third. And finally to embrace the new. So we have to embrace the new. We have to be willing to prepare secondly to embrace the new. You have to be willing to change third and finally to embrace the new. You have to be led by faith, not Fear. I’m gonna say that again, to embrace the new. You have to be led by faith, not Fear. Don’t be lazy and just say, oh, I have to be led by faith. No, no right out the whole thing. If you’re taking notes. Faith, not Fear Faith, not Fear. Type it in the chat Faith, not Fear Faith, not Fear to embrace the new. You have to be led by faith, not Fear and Fear is crafty. It’s crafty because oftentimes it’s masked with anger. It’s masked with the illusion of control, it’s masked with a feeling of power. It’s masked with a I don’t have to think about it just a little bit more and then I’ll make a decision. It’s masked with procrastination. We uh, we hide fear hides behind several things and takes a number of different shapes. But ultimately it’s fear. It’s fear. And being led by fear says, we don’t really know what to expect next. So we’ll just stay right here with what we know, we’ll stay right here with what we’re comfortable with. But comfort can kill you comfort can kill you comfort can derail your marriage. Comfort can cause you to have a strained relationship with your Children. Comfort can cause you to have a go go bankrupt and lose some finances. Comfort can cause you to derail whatever it is, you’re trying to be successful at comfort or plateau and lack of growth can cause you to uh wind can cause you to implode. You guys know what the the most prevalent command in scripture is the command that was said the most all in scripture. These two words. Fear not Fear not where the angel is coming to speak to someone, Whether God is speaking to someone specifically Jose. Fear not is mentioned about 365 times in the Bible one time for every day of the year. Why? Because we don’t have to Fear, I have no reason to fear. The Lord is my light. We must not live in fear. Why? Because God tells us not to. We must not live in fear because God tells us not to. We must not live in fear because it has the potential to keep us stuck. And repeating the same season. Over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. Say that 40 times the Children of Israel were in 40 were in the wilderness for 40 years, repeating the same season. Why? Because Fear stop them from walking into the promise. Fear stop them from walking into the new and many of us we’ve been in wilderness seasons. Why? Because of fear. But God is saying, look the old wine, It was fine for the time, it was fine for the time we had it, It was a wonderful thing. But God wants to do something fresh. God wants to do something new. God wants to do something brand new and God has not given us the Spirit of Fear but of power of love and of sound mind. We must not live in fear because the Spirit of Fear is not of God. I didn’t say being afraid is not of God. We can be afraid and move right past it, Move right through it. We can be fearful and pray for boldness and move forward right through it. But living in fear consistently. Day after day after day after day after day, consistently having that way down that Spirit of Fear, it’s latched onto our shoulders, latched onto our backs is not of God. God hasn’t given us a spirit of Fear to keep us stuck in the old ways to keep us stuck with the old wine to keep us rejecting and resisting the reset, but of power of love and a sound mind to accept what God is trying to do, to embrace the new thing, to have a mind, not to resist, but to run to the reset and embrace the new thing that God wants to do. You gotta thank you so much for your people. I thank you for this word. I thank you God for the reset that you want to do in our lives. I pray Lord that as this word has gone forth, that it would find a good ground. I pray Lord, that as this word has gone forth, Father, that you will be glorified in the lives of your people. That no matter what this year holds, we know who holds this year Father. I pray for fresh vision for your people. Oh God! Right now. I pray for fresh insight for your people right now. Oh God! I pray God for boldness to do what you’ve called us to do. I pray God for the new wine lord and the new wine skin God, I pray that we would be in a position to allow you to reshape us, allow you to remold us. Father, allow you to reset us so we can hold what you’re trying to bless us with father so we can contain what you’re trying to give us. Oh God and be a blessing to those that need what it is you’re calling us to. So God, I thank you, I praise you and I give you glory for all that you have done and all you’re going to continue to do.
