Pro-Abortion Bias in the Media

Cliff Kincaid is director of the Accuracy in Media Center for Investigative Journalism. As a media critic, he’s dedicated his career to bringing accuracy and responsibility to a variety of media sources. Cliff has documented numerous cases that prove a liberal and pro-abortion bias within the mainstream media.
By reinforcing language and stereotypes, attacking pro-life figures, or even completely ignoring the subject, the media portray abortion from the pro-abortion perspective. Over 15 years, Steve Sanborn was a frequent participant in the March for Life. Discouraged by the lack of media coverage the March received, Steve joined an effort to produce a documentary about the March titled “Thine Eyes.” The year they filmed the event, Steve finally saw the media respond, but what he saw wasn’t entirely accurate.
Cliff and Steve agree that pro-abortion media bias exists, but they remain optimistic that its effect on our culture can be counteracted. In today’s age of citizen journalism, Americans must take issues and reporting into their own hands. By contributing to unbiased coverage of pro-life issues, everyday citizens can help hold the media accountable.
