Holy Huddle

Hello everyone and thank you so much for joining me today. My name is Roderick caesar the third on the lead pastor of Bethel Gospel Tabernacle in Jamaica queens new york. And I’m so excited that you decided to join me for the full Gospel hour right here on Global seven. My prayers that you will be blessed, you would be encouraged and inspired by this message. Thank you so much for joining and God bless. And so today I want to look at holy huddle, Holy huddle when we rebuild. It’s important to know what our next steps are going to be. Let’s pray Dear God, I thank you so much for this time. I thank you for this word, I pray that as your word goes forth, you would be glorified and everything that’s said and done. We thank you, we praise you, we give you glory. We ask these things in jesus name, amen any man to be holy is to be dedicated or to be consecrated or set apart to God for service, something that’s sacred, that’s holy. Now a huddle is to crowd or come together in sports. Uh, you know, people are watching football, basketball and watching different sports and there it’s, it’s when a team uh, stops playing for a moment and comes together, they gather together closely in a tight circle and they strategize they motivate or even celebrate or even just focus on, okay, what are our next steps going to be, what are we going to do differently on this play than the last play? How are we going to advance so we can gain a couple of yards. How are we going to advance to get the ball into the basket? They huddle and and really strategize what their next steps are going to be. And so when we’re rebuilding, it’s important for us to know what our next steps are going to be and we need to in order to do that with a huddle. You get close, we need to be able to get close to the Lord hear from him and know his voice. Those are necessary components of what it means to be a believer to get close to the Lord hear from him and know his voice and john chapter 10 verse 27 Jesus says that my sheep shall know my voice regardless of what the religious leaders are saying about me, regardless of the fact that these people are after my life trying to kill me. My sheep shall know my voice. And that shows a new covenant connection between God the son and those who would be his people. And sometimes what we realize is the development of a thing over time. You can have it looking very different from when it was first introduced and our connection with the Lord is no different. I mentioned the new covenant connection between God and his people, but today I want us to take a look back, I look back at the old covenant before, before paul wrote his letter to philippi before Nehemiah and Ezra got together to rebuild the wall and the temple. We’re looking at one of the first major connections between God and his people in the book of Exodus. If you have your bibles turn with me or follow along on the screen in the Book of Exodus, chapter 1 19, excuse me. Chapter 19 verses one through nine. Holy huddle, Holy huddle on the third New Moon. After the people of Israel had gone out of the Land of Egypt. On that day they came into the wilderness of Sinai. They set out from refugee um and came into the wilderness of Sinai. They encamped in the wilderness. They encamped in the wilderness there Israel encamped before the mountain. While moses went up to God Israel and camp before the mountain. While moses went up to God and the Lord called to him out of the mountain, saying thus, you shall say to the house of Jacob and tell the people of Israel, you yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, how I bore you on eagle’s wings and brought you to myself Now. Therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice. Keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for the earth is mine and you shall be a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words that you shall speak to the people of Israel. So moses came and called the elders and the people set before them all These words that the Lord had commanded him and all the people answered together and said all that the Lord has spoken. We will do all that the Lord has spoken. We will do and moses reported the words of the people to the Lord and the Lord said to moses behold I am coming to you in a thick cloud that the people may hear when I speak with you and may also believe you forever. When moses told the words to the people of the Lord, the Lord said to moses, go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow. Let them wash their garments and be ready for the third day. For on the third day the Lord will come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people. Now that was a lot. But it pretty much speaks of moses encounter with God and God’s coming encounter with this, these new people of Israel. Now I’d like to give us a brief overview of where we are and how we got here. Now, mind you, this is literally, it’s going to be an overview. I’m going through some books and some very significant chapters within the text but it’s to give us a good picture of where we are of where we are. So God uses joseph near the tail end of the book of genesis. God uses joseph to bring Israel out of Egypt. Excuse me, bring Israel to Egypt during time of famine. There’s a time of famine where Israel is in need of food. And God takes joseph from the pit to the palace, right, there’s the prison there. So he’s having some some hard times getting to the palace, but from the pit to the prison to the palace, he gets there and God uses his life and his position to bring the people of Israel into Egypt. Now, God is is showing favor to his people within Egypt. And so they’re multiplying greatly. They’re succeeding. They’re doing well. And the pharaoh sees this as a threat. The pharaoh sees this and says there’s so many Israelites that uh they may rebel against us. And so he wants now to enslave them and to have them work for him. So he oppresses them and he kills their Children. Now, uh, when the enemy sees that there’s something within us that’s great. When the enemy can be threatened by the God in us and what God wants to do with us, he wants nothing more than to eliminate and distract us from the purpose of which we were saved. The enemy wants to snuff us out in the same way the pharaoh saw the success of Israel and saw the multiplication of Israel and saw what they were doing and said, wait a minute. This could, this can end up being bad for us and oppress them. The enemy knows that the Lord wants to do wonderful and mighty things in our lives and wants to speak to us and save us and redeem us and all of these great things and wants nothing more misery, loves company than to snuff out what God is doing. But how many of you know that our God is in the business of deliverance? Amen. Our God is in the business of deliverance. And so Israel, after years of slavery, 400 years of oppression, they’re crying out to God there, moaning out to God, groaning to God, weeping out to God for deliverance. And the lords and the word says that the Lord God heard their cry. And this is where we enter into the story of moses. Because when pharaoh was killing the male Children out of uh, I’m sorry when the pharaoh was killing the male Children, what we see happening was that there’s some humming going on back here. I don’t know if we could get that taken care of. It’s distracting. Thank you. When pharaoh was killing the male Children, what was taking place was moses, mother put him, put him in a basket, put him in the river and let go of him floated and he floated down the river and we see he ended up at the uh, he ended up at the palace of pharaoh. So we realized that God was strategic in that even though uh pharaoh was killing the firstborn and all these Children. What we realized that moses was protected moses was protected. The text says that God heard their cry, as God heard their cry, he was raising up moses in pharaoh’s house right under pharaoh’s knows raising up the deliverer, a child of Israel came to pharaoh’s daughter and right in the palace moses received the education, received the training, received the equipment, received all of these things to become the deliverer moses does something though, as he’s growing up, that ends up affecting him in a profound way. He realizes that hey, I’m not an Egyptian, I’m actually an Israelite and he sees that the Egyptians were being hard on the Israelites beating one of them and he goes in and he kills the Egyptian, he does this and then goes about buries him in the sand and goes about his business and just then he’s going to break up a fight that he sees going on between the Israelites and they say, hey, are you going to kill us? Like you did that Egyptian? He thought that his sin was hidden, but it was actually exposed, moses in fear runs away from Egypt, runs away from position, runs away from whatever was at his doorstep runs away from the fact that he murdered a man and goes into hiding in a sense. But even in this hiding place, even in this shepherding place, even in this wilderness place God was with him, God protected him. God showed him favor and God also called him, I said moses, Look, you found family where you are. You’ve found favor where you are. You found all of these wonderful things where you are. But I have not called you to stay where you are. I’ve called you to go back to the place where you’re running from. Because there are people that are calling you that are calling me. And I have chosen you to be my instrument that I would use to deliver. Israel moses wrestles with this. If you read through the text, he wrestles with this and he meets up with his brother, Aaron and together they go back and they say to pharaoh, famous words, let my Lord says, let my people go right, pharaoh says no, his heart is hardened. And then we enter into the 10 plagues exodus. Chapter seven through chapter 12, There’s 10 different plagues because Pharaoh wasn’t just a king in Egypt pharaoh was God And Egypt had multiple gods. The God of the Sun, the God of the rain, the God of the harvest, All of these different gods and God says, no, no, I am the God and these plagues. Each uh go against the gods of Egypt. And in these play gods, God brings the heart of pharaoh into submission. And the ones pharaoh that said, I’m not going to let them go. I’m actually gonna make them work harder moses goes goes through it goes back and forth and back and forth And the plagues come upon the people and pharaoh finally relents and lets them go and God guides them through this wilderness as they’re walking through, trying to figure out how to get some next steps, trying to figure out where to go. God is with them. Even when pharaoh has a change of heart and chases after them, God shows himself mighty and strong by protecting them and then giving them time to cross a body of water, not to walk over it like jesus did, but to walk through it to walk through it on dry ground. The text says they were fearful when they saw the chariots of Egypt coming to them. They said, have you led us here to die? Were there no graves in Egypt that you let us here to die and moses says stand still and see the salvation of the Lord raises his staff and they were able to walk through on dry ground. Now it wasn’t just a hop skip and a jump the length of this stage. This took some time and God shielded them and protected them from Egypt. And when they make it through, Egypt is so uh the pharaoh was very persistent. I said, look, we’re not leaving here without vengeance for the first born that were killed, We’re not leaving here without getting our slaves back. So they ran after them and God closed the water over the the Egyptians and pharaoh and the Israeli Israelites saw their oppressors no more. So God showed himself might. He showed himself strong, helped them to escape from Egypt and they crossed the Red Sea and they gave God praise for their deliverance. They gave God praise for their deliverance. On the other side, they sing praises to the Lord. But now this leaves us with a question, how does someone reintroduce themselves and rebuild a relationship that’s been under such stress and strain for many years. Israel was enslaved for 400 for hundreds of years. They were enslaved. And when someone, there’s a quote from, from this movie that in this movie this this woman is is held up by by bank robbers and she’s uh she’s talking with a police officer that’s helping her through this traumatic process and he says, hey, when someone goes through an experience like this, they often experience some residual effects. There’s often some things that are, are left behind, some trauma that you deal with as a result of what’s taking place. PTSD you wake up with the knights with with sweats, all of these, these these crazy things that take place And Israel was oppressed for over 400 years. And so there’s some things that they learned from Egypt that that’s stuck with them. There’s some habits that they saw in Egypt that’s stuck with them. There’s some side effects that they picked up from slavery in Egypt that stayed with them the same way with myself as an african american and many of us dealing with the ramifications and the effects of slavery. The ramifications and the effects of of of Jim Crow, right of all of these things. The same way that trauma can still linger on is what we see going on with them. Some of the habits that they learned, some of the habits that uh they went through or the things that they picked up along the way did not leave them just because they were freed. There’s a lot of unlearning that needs to be done in the same way for us. We have to unlearn and relearn as a, as a people, as a country as America, Israel had to do the same thing, they had to unlearn and relearn the same principle applies because this story isn’t years after they were freed from Egypt. This takes place maybe months if I’m not mistaken. The chains are just recently off. But just now really how to realizing how to raise their hands without the weight of the chains. So how do we rebuild a relationship with this God who has delivered us after we’ve been oppressed in a place that it wasn’t, it was terrible. But it wasn’t too too bad because this was Egypt. This was the world power of the time. Because don’t forget every time something happened in the life of Israel, why they were in the wilderness. That didn’t it didn’t seem right to them. It didn’t fit right to them. They said, hey, why are we here when we could have died in Egypt So Egypt compared to where they were for them was this is great. We had this food in Egypt. We had this food in Egypt, sure. We were slaves. But you know, and that’s the mentality that they had that stuck with them. Egypt was the world power of the time. They had riches beyond their dreams that they were able to witness. So much so that they still longed for the chains. Egypt as I said, was not, it was a polytheistic place where they worshiped multiple gods. They had a God for everything and pharaoh was the God. But then they, then this one God comes along and says, no, no, no, I am the alpha, I am the omega, I am Yahweh, I have no other gods before me. I am the Lord, your God right. Because one God shows up the God and says, no, no, no. Now you’ve got to unlearn some of what you’ve learned. And now we realized that Israel was just no longer in Egypt. They were in the wilderness and the wilderness can be a place where relationship is developed. The wilderness is not always a negative place. It has now more negative connotation because of the disobedience that took place there and the punishment as a result of that. But the wilderness is not always a negative place. It can be a place that is difficult. Sure. But a place where your relationship with the Lord is strengthened? Where your relationship with the Lord is developed where you have solitude and isolation in the desert, where God gives you brooks to drink from and streams to drink from when when you’re in a dry and weary place where it’s a place of testing, it can be a place of pruning, it can be a place of growth. It can be a place of intimacy And the wilderness gets a bad rep because Israel unfortunately was stuck there for 40 years because of their sins. But God’s heart in leading them to the wilderness was never for permanent settlements was never to remain there and build their, they were to encamp there and stay there for a moment to worship him and huddle and get instructions for the next step. But they took some missteps along the way. So now they’re in the wilderness. But there’s still his people there in the wilderness and they’re his people. The Lord said to moses to tell pharaoh, let my people go that they may hold a feast and worship me in the wilderness. Let my people go. He says, look, they may be in change, but they’re my people, they may have difficult times, but they’re my people. They may be in restraints, but they’re my people, they may be under oppression, but they’re my people. The situation may look bleak, but they are my people. So they won’t stay there for long because I’m in the delivering business. So how does someone reintroduce themselves and rebuild a relationship that’s been strained for years? You re introduce yourself and you show them that you can be trusted An exodus 15. After they give God praise for deliverance, he makes bitter water sweet for them to drink. And later on in Exodus, chapter 16 he feeds their physical need. He gives them manna from Heaven. They say they’re hungry and God just opens up the the sky and says bread for everybody, right? It’s like Oprah, you get bread, you get bread right, Everyone’s excited. They get this manna from heaven and they’re eating. And God says, look, I not only have nourished your your uh your stomach grumbling, but I’ve given you water again. In verse 17 he provides water again for the Israelites because you need that in the wilderness. You need food, you need sustenance. So God lets them know, hey, I’ve provided for you. I can provide for you. I can be what you need in the wilderness. He protects them. He provides for them. And even when they refused to see it, he lets them know that he is more than enough because he wants to rebuild and strengthen his relationship with them. In Exodus chapter 18, we see that moses father in law, Jethro gives him some advice on how to now oversee and how to look after this nation of people because moses was gonna run himself straight into burnout, I’m gonna be completely done and Jethro says, hey this is what you need to do, organize it this way. Have people over these tribes, people doing this, this, this this way and organize it in such a way where it allows moses to lead effectively. So now there’s a healthy system that’s created And then in Exodus 19 now we find ourselves with a covenant that is being agreed upon at Mount Sinai. So that was a lot. We’ve done a little bit of fast forwarding overview but now we’re here and on the third new moon after the people of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt. Now that day they came into the wilderness of Sinai. They set out from referendum. They came into the wilderness of Sinai and they camped in the wilderness there, Israel encamped before the mountains. So they stayed right before the mountain. They didn’t go up onto the mountain. They stayed and camped right before the mountain and moses went up to the mountain moses went up to God and the Lord called him and spoke to him out of the mountain saying moses, you need to tell this to the people of Israel say you yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, how I bore you on eagle’s wings and brought you to myself, I brought you out, we’re just saying he brought me out of the mire of clay? I placed my feet on a rock to stay. Did you see how I brought you out of Egypt? Did you see how I brought you out of the chains? How I brought you out of oppression? How I brought you out of out of slavery? How I brought you out of the shackles, How I freed you. You saw how I did that with my mighty hand, How I bore you on eagle’s wings. And I brought you to myself. Why did I do that so that you could be my people and so that I could be your God. Now, therefore verse five, if you will indeed obey my voice, keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for the Earth is mine. And you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. That’s what you need to tell them moses that I want to be in covenant with them, that I want to be in relationship with them. If they would only keep my commands, keep my words, they will be my treasured possession. I will exalt them. I will give them status as priests to the nations. I will set them apart moses says, okay, we’ll do this. He he lets the people know everything that God told him and they say, okay, we’re gonna do everything God says to do. And then God says, alright, that’s wonderful. I’m glad to hear that. Now, I’m going to come to you in a thick cloud so that when so that the people may hear when I speak with you and they may also believe you forever. So moses I’m going to now validate you as if getting you through the red sea and getting them out of Egypt wasn’t enough. I’m gonna validate you and speak to you in the midst of the people so they can understand and believe you and then he says go to the people and consecrate them, set them apart, set them apart so they know they need to be different. Consecrate them both today and tomorrow. Let them wash their garments and be ready for the 3rd day from the third day I’m going to come down in the sight of all the people. So God reminds them, hey I freed you. God reminds you hey you were in bondage and I loosed your chains. God reminds them that hey my heart is for you. I want you to be my people and I want to be your God. God reminds them that he said that they have seen him in action. You’ve seen the plagues But now I want to show you myself, God gives them an opportunity to connect with him in covenant relationship and then we realized that God wants something deeper than all of that. He wants them to see him, he wants them to see him but he wants them to be protected because if they see him and if they go too close then they will die. Not because he wants them to, but because he is holy, he is clean, he has cleansed. He is pure, he is God and the sacrifice for their sins has not yet been made. The eternal sacrifice the once and for all the spotless lamb, the blood of the lamb that takes away the sins of the world that that sacrifice jesus, the christ has not yet died. So when unholy people with unclean hands cannot become, cannot come before a holy God. So he says, I want to show you myself and moses is the one that I will let come to me moses is the one that I will allow to close this gap to close this distance. So he wants to show up on the mountain but he wants his people to be protected. So what does he do? He sets parameters and he sets boundaries. Ha, we don’t like that word boundaries, We don’t like it because it means restriction. It means you can go this far but no further. But what happens when the waves of the sea go across their boundaries from time to time? We have tsunamis. We have terrible things going on. What happens when people overstep their boundaries? You have people that cross that talk a little bit too close saying back up, we have a pandemic brother, take a couple steps back, You’re too close to me six ft right? What happens when people overstep their boundaries? Sometimes there are consequences for boundaries that are overstaffed. And God’s the same principle applies. God says, hey, there are some things that need to be done before I show up. They need to consecrate themselves for 2.5 days because I’m showing up on the third day and they got to be ready for me. He wants them to be protected. The boundaries are for our benefit. The boundaries are for our benefit. My daughter now, is that this this place where She she’s she wants me to just say yes to two things to everything. Oh daddy, can I watch tv, can I you know, play this game, Can I you know, go do do this? And I say, oh, you know, no, not not right now, maybe later. Or sometimes I’ll just say no. And so so you know daddy, why why why do you say, why do you say no? Why don’t you tell me? Why don’t you say yes? You know? And I’m like do I say no that much? Like let me, let me think I’m going back thinking about, you know, the kind of parent I want to be and I’m realizing yeah, sure sometimes I’ll say yes, but her response to the no is the world is over. Okay. And I’m realizing that for us as as Children of God when God sets parameters when God sets boundaries. When God says you can go this far, but no further, sometimes you wanna just just go over just a little bit just to go over that line, just to just to see. But it’s for our benefit is for our protection. And at the same way as I told my daughter, I said, hey, some of these things, but I’m saying no to it’s for your good. I know you want to have fun and you want to stay up and you want to eat ice cream and do all this great stuff. But if I let you do that on a school night, you’re gonna be, it’s gonna be miserable for you in the morning. Absolutely brutal. You’re thinking of the present, you’re thinking of the here and now. You’re not thinking of the days to come. And in the same way when we overstepped the boundaries that God has placed on us, we’re thinking of the immediate what we want, how we feel, not what God has put in place for our for our benefit. And so in this, in this text, we see God’s saying, look, I’m putting these boundaries and these parameters around you for your benefit. In verse 12. Set the limits of the people all around saying, do not care saying, take care to not go up into the mountain or touch the edge of it. Watch this Israel was in camped at the bottom of the mountain. God says, look, don’t touch the edge of the mountain, you’re at the bottom, Stay there. Don’t touch the edge of the mountain and don’t go up into the mountain, whoever touches the mountain shall be put to death, no hand shall touch him. So don’t touch him because you’ll become unclean. You’ll you’ll you’ll be have to be put to death as well. Don’t touch him but stone him or shoot him with arrows. Watch this, whether beast or man, he shall not live. Protect your your Fido lassie. Whatever your your dog’s name is, your dog goes to that mountain is over stone and what the dog? Yes, the dog too. Right. When the trumpet sounds a long blast, then they shall come up to the mountain. So there’s a certain time in this instance when that can be accomplished. But before that time takes place, before you hear that loud blast, don’t you don’t want to go there because it’s over for you. It’s over for your your life if you do so moses went down from the mountain to the people and consecrated the people and they washed their garments and they said to the people, be ready for the third day. Do not go near a woman. So this says, look, you have to remain clean. There are certain boundaries that are taking place. Yes, even in the marriage bed. Do not go near a woman. Right, so no sex right there, Then wash your clothes, you got to be clean. Right, consecrate the people set them apart as holy and washed their garments. So all of these things are taking place there being consecrated and set apart because God is showing up to being consecrated and set apart to meet with the Lord. On the morning of the 3rd day there were thunders and lightnings in a thick cloud on the mountain For 16 and a very loud trumpet blast so that all the people came and trembled. And then moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God and they took their stand at the foot of the mountain. Now Mount Sinai was wrapped in smoke because the Lord had descended on it in fire. The smoke of it went up like the smoke of a killing and the whole mountain trembled greatly and the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder and moses spoke and God answered him in thunder. And the Lord came down on Mount Sinai to the top of the mountain and the Lord called moses to the top of the mountain and moses went up. So the people of God got a chance to see God in action again in a different way. Remember they were they were able to witness some of what took place with the plagues in Egypt, but now they’re witnessing God’s presence descend upon a mountain, not God waving his hand and having things of nature take place. But God’s actual presence come upon this mountain and then it begins to earthquake and you begin to see smoke. And you begin to see fire and you hear his voice like thunder and they are fearful, they are trembling. They call the Lord calls moses. And moses goes up into the mountains. They’re able to see God from a different perspective than they’ve ever seen him before because they’re in this holy huddle. Yeah, during this holy huddle. Now watch this moses goes up, get some more instructions. He goes back down and the people, when they go back down, the people say, where is this? The people say when he goes back. I did. There we go. Chapter 20 verse 18. The people say now when the people saw the thunder and the flash is and the lightning and the sound of the Trumpet and the mountain smoking. The people were afraid and trembled and they stood afar off and they said to moses, You speak to us and we will listen but do not let God speak to us unless we die, moses said to the people, do not fear. For God has come to test you that you may fear of him. And that fear of him maybe before you. So that you may not sin. And the people stood far off while moses drew near to the thick darkness where God was. So that’s verse 20, that’s that’s at the end of Chapter 20. In between moses going up. Getting more instructions and coming back down and then speaking to him are the 10 commandments, God moses receives that instruction from the Lord The 10 Commandments and the 10 Commandments are very, very well known. But I just want to touch on the first one. I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the Land of Egypt out of the house of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me. This was very important because I stated before, Egypt was a place that that worshiped multiple gods. And God says, look, I know you’ve been oppressed, I know you’ve been here for a long time. I know there’s been some some difficult things that have taken place. And you’ve seen Egypt turned to these different gods. But I want you to worship me and only me. So I am the Lord. Your God. Don’t make any other gods before me and don’t make any gods out of images. Don’t make any idols. All of these different things, he says. And then he goes into some other things that all the other commandments. Deal with your heart and deal with your relationship with your neighbor because why he’s setting them apart. He says, I want to make you priests to the nation’s, I want to make you a light in darkness. I wanna make you different. So what he’s saying here is in contrary in contrast to all of the other nations that they’re surrounding because God wants to make them a light to the Nations. And so that’s what takes place in this huddle. But we see that once they saw God, once they saw the smoke, they said, okay, moses, we don’t want no smoke. We don’t want no problems. You go talk to God will hear what God says to you. So moses goes up, gets the commandments, here’s, here’s this from them and goes back to receive more instruction. So when the huddle, what takes place in the huddle, god reminds them he’s freed them. He reminds them he wants to see them. They see the Lord moses goes back up into the mountain, there’s thunder and lightning and God uh, moses goes back up to hear from the Lord in the huddle, you’re able to get close in the huddle, you’re able to get close now, mind you, even though there was distance because they did not want to die. God said, look, there has to be distanced. This was as close as they’ve seen God ever other than his hand moving to free them from Egypt. This was the closest they’ve gotten. So in the huddle, you’re able to get close in the same way we have to do the same thing. We have to be willing to get close in the huddle. You receive some next steps and instructions in the same way we realized that hey, they received the 10 commandments and a lot of the other things that took place once moses was able to uh, hear from the Lord and in the latter chapters after verse 20 there’s a lot of instructions that God gives in order to see how his people would relate to him and how they would build a Tabernacle and be a people of God, all these different things. So they received some next steps, some instructions, but the most important piece And after this I’ll close but I want to share this. The most important piece is after the huddle. Are you willing to follow instructions? You can have this moment where you see God, you meet God, you feel his presence, you get some revelation in his word. He speaks to you through a text. He speaks to you through a song. He speaks to you through a sermon and you feel the presence of God or Gods here. Yeah, after that moment, are you willing to follow through? It’s a holy huddle. There’s an X. There’s an expectation for us to abide by and adhere to the commands and the standard that God holds us to. We need to rebuild together and we need to hear from God as I close and as the team comes up, we realized that christ died so that we could be in right relationship. You see Israel’s access was limited but christ died and tore the veil. So now we have access, we can enter the throne room with our prayers, we can come bold and serve a high priest that knows what we’ve been experiencing. We can hear from God and God can hear us because christ was the sacrifice that tore the veil. He died so that we could have access, he died so that we could be in right relationship. So when we rebuild Saints of God in the areas of our lives that God is calling us to, when we rebuild Bethel Gospel Tabernacle as a church to be the church that God has called us to be. Let’s rebuild knowing that God is building with us. And because God builds with us, we’re not laboring in vain. Let’s rebuild knowing that God is our foundation and because God is our foundation, we stand firm footed knowing that when the storms come, we will not fold. Let’s rebuild. Having received instructions in the huddle to go and make disciples. Let’s rebuild. Having received instructions in the huddle to go and live a spirit filled spirit led life. Let’s rebuild. Having received instructions in the huddle to live as citizens of the kingdom of heaven. Let’s rebuild Saints of God understanding and knowing that God is with us and God is for us, we have to follow instructions. If God is with us. If God is for us, we have to follow what he says, we have to obey, jesus says those that hear my words and do them, he’s like the one that builds his house on the rock. But if you hear my words and don’t follow, then you’re building your house on the sand. You see after the commandments. And after God got after Moses received instructions on how to build the Tabernacle and how to uh be the people and how to address the priests and all these different things on excess. Exodus 21 through 31. He comes down from the mountain and he was taking too long for Israel’s liking. And in chapter 32 we see that they built a golden calf, an idol, an idol worship. After he had specifically told them not to idol worship had crept in and made its way into the hearts of the people of God. And they were praising this calf for delivering them from Egypt. They were praising this calf for doing what God did. Mhm. And God was heartbroken and furious at what took place. God was heartbroken and furious. How could they do this? And God wanted to start over with moses and kill everybody and all of these things when he came up with a different way of of punishment, it grieved the heart of God because the habits they learned in Egypt stayed with them in spite of God’s goodness. Mhm. And that’s where for us, the sanctification piece comes in. That’s where for us, the dying to our flesh daily comes in the surrendering the, not my will, but your will be done. Oh God comes in because there are some habits that we can take with us into this thing called salvation. Mhm. God can save us, Redeem us, Make us new, make us cleanse. But yet we’re struggling with the same sins that we wrestled with before we came to christ. We’re dealing with the same mindsets and the same patterns. But God calls us What is that? He has rescued us from the domain of Darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved son in whom we have redemption. The forgiveness of sins. It’s that piece that’s so pivotal to the huddle. The forgiveness of sins that God does not treat us as our sins deserve. How many of you are grateful for the grace of God. You’re grateful for the grace of God that the habits that perhaps maybe stayed with you from the world when God saved you and redeemed you, God does not treat us as our sins Deserve. Now we can’t say the same for some of the Israelites that built that calf because there was a slaughter that day. God got the Levi’s together, the people that were committed to him that did not build this calf and said get to killing, get to slaughtering and 3000 people were killed that day because our God is a holy God and he takes the instructions that he gives in this huddle severely seriously. So much so that he sent his son, jesus christ to die in our place. Mhm. Because we need the Grace of God in order to live out these instructions, we need the grace of God in order to take what’s what’s heard and received in the huddle and applied in the real game in the real life. Mm hmm. It’s by God’s grace that that’s accomplished. I’m grateful that God doesn’t treat us as our sins deserve. I’m grateful that the consequence for not listening to what was said in the huddle isn’t as severe as it could have been. And the huddle, you get close and the huddle, you get next steps in the huddle, you receive instructions. But after the huddle Saints of God, we must have follow those instructions. So let’s rebuild Saints of God. Having heard the instructions of the Lord to love our neighbor. Let’s rebuild Saints of God. Having heard the instructions of the Lord to contend for the faith, Let’s rebuild Saints of God. Having heard the instructions of the Lord to love the Lord. Your God with all your heart, your mind, your soul, your strength. Let’s rebuild. Let’s unlearn and relearn and rebuild. Having heard from the Lord in the Holy huddle, let’s give God praise. Thank you Lord for who you are, who you’ve called us to be, for your goodness, your mercy, your kindness towards us. God, your loving kindness towards us. We thank you, father, that we will follow you forward. We give you praise, honor and glory. So if you’re listening and you’ve heard this message and you do not know, jesus christ. You don’t have a relationship with him and you want to know him. You want to be a son, a daughter of God. You want to have a right relationship. If that’s you, I’ll ask you to raise your hand if you’re here in the building or if you’re listening online and watching, you can press, you can text saved S A V. E. D. Saved to the number at the bottom of your screen and we’ll be able to pray with you and connect you to the Lord and Savior. Jesus christ. If you’re here, you don’t know jesus, you don’t know the Lord, you’re listening, watching anyone here. Alright. If you are a believer and you realize hey, I’ve, I’ve heard some instructions in the huddle and I want to rebuild. I want to follow through with those instructions or maybe you’re saying, hey, I want to hear from God, but there’s like a, there’s a block. I don’t know what it is. I I can’t hear from him right now. I’m in a difficult season of trying time. I’m just going to pray with you. If if those, if that matches where you are, Dear Lord, I pray for those that are having difficulty hearing you right now. I pray Lord that they would check their hearts father first and foremost that they would uh be willing to remove uh to have, you remove sin from their lives, God any sin that is un confessed any sin that has remained unchecked. Any sin that they are living in Lord. I pray that you would expose it. That you would point it out to them so that they can eradicate it from their lives. Lord. So they can ask for forgiveness. God, any hardened hearts, any unforgiveness. Lord, I pray Lord that you would allow uh your people to see, search me God and know my heart, try me and see if there be any wicked way within me and lead me in the way everlasting. I pray that you would search them, know them, help them to see themselves so that they can rid themselves of something that may be blocking them from hearing you. If it’s a matter of being able to be still and get quiet. I pray Lord that you would find them in in places and positions of stillness of solitude of silence, to hear your voice in a new way to hear your voice in a different way. God I pray that we would have the spiritual sensitivity to hear in the huddle you hear in the huddle you see. And so I pray Lord that as they draw close to you that they would draw close to your word. God that you would speak to them through scriptures. Speak to them through your words. Speak to them through this word that is living and active, that is able God to to cut sharper than any two edged sword. And so I pray Lord that you would use your word. That they would open the text Father. And you would speak to them through the power of your words. Speak to them Lord and the still small voice. Speak to them God through visions and dreams. Speak to them. God do a prophetic or a word of knowledge. Lord. I pray that your spirit would move in this place and in their lives and you would speak to those that want to hear you father, they’re like Samuel. They would say I heard you call my name, that they would hear you and respond Father, I thank you Lord for those that are having difficulty hearing. I pray that they would be able to hear And for those that need that extra push to follow through when it counts. Not just to hear but to apply God, I thank you for the strength that comes to application the wisdom that comes through application. I thank you then on the final plague when you sent the angel to take the first born you said it’s not just enough to have the blood, but you need to apply it to the door post And in the same way when we get the instructions from the Lord, When we get the next steps from the Lord, when we lean close in the huddle on my prayer is that we would have the strength and wisdom to apply it to our lives, apply it to our hearts, apply it to our minds. Oh God, if we need accountability and strength, Father to do that, I pray that we would be open with one another that we know that the prayers of the righteous have power in there working. And I pray Lord that like uh moses needed assistance with erin and her that we would run after people that can hold up our arms in difficult times and allow us to apply the instruction that you’ve called to our lives. So I thank you Father for who you are in our lives. I thank you for the victory we have in you. I thank you for the rebuilding. That’s going to take place in this church and in our lives. And I pray Lord that as we do this, we would not fail. We would not fail to give you the glory that as we rebuild and as we begin to have a reason to testify in our lives of the goodness of the Lord that we would not give your glory to another. That we would not give your glory to a golden calf in our lives. But right now Lord, we would commit, we would commit to giving glory to you to say had it not been for the Lord on my side, where would I be? I thank you Lord for the testimonies that are going to come as a result of this huddle as a result of this time, as a result of just your work in our lives. I thank you, praise you. We give you praise, honor and glory. We ask all of these things in jesus name and everyone said amen, Amen and Amen. God bless you. Thank you.
