Happy Easter! How to be saved

Hello, my name is Cindy Schmidler, welcome to treasures in the storm today. I want to wish you a very happy, happy easter. We’re gonna talk about jesus’s resurrection, what that means to us. I want to share just in simple terms what exactly happened and why Jesus did this. And then we’re gonna look at scriptures on how he is in control of all of this and really how much he loves us to have put his own son on that cross. So if you know this story, well, just listen to me, maybe it will give you encouragement in another area of your life. Maybe even to be able to share with someone that you’ve not been able to share with then. So I jesus is the pearl of great prize. I’m going to pray for us and then we’re gonna talk about that dear heavenly father. Lord, I thank you jesus for easter that shows us that you are not a dead god you are alive. And the scripture says you are sitting with God the father up in heaven on the right hand, on the strong right hand Lord. Again, I’m so grateful father because I wouldn’t want to worship a God that’s not alive God that couldn’t care for me Lord. And I thank you Father. How you so intimately care for not only me but my listeners today father and they may not know yet, Lord and for those that don’t, will you please put yourself in them in a way Father. That they can understand and know that you have not left them here on this earth alone but that you’ve created them for your good plan and your good purpose and for their enjoyment. Lord God, please can you show my audience today. Will you use me God as your container as your vessel to share with the people today what it means, your resurrection, what that means to them, what that means to all of us Lord. And we want to give you such um fame today. Lord such great. I always use that word Glory. But I want another word Lord that we want to admire you and adore you and consider you our utmost highest god of all Gods. And so Lord just give us vision. Give give us a feeding today Lord as we open your word and those hard things, can you speak to us through even those hard things today, Lord and we will trust you, Trust you, trust you for it and we pray that in jesus precious name. Go ahead and get your bibles pen and paper. And like always I say let’s get our seatbelt on because we’re going we’re going with God today and we’re expecting us expecting him to give us a word today. And so let’s expect that. So I want to begin today with just sharing what that experience of jesus dying on the cross is all about. You know back in the story in the garden of Adam and Eve and when Ive had Eve and Adam had sinned against God and brought sin into the world that scripture says in romans that um all have fallen short of the glory of God, All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. And that word all is a big word, isn’t it? Because there’s nobody exempt from that. And so because we have sin On us from the very beginning, Sin two sin in our daily lives, we cannot coexist with our God who is pure, all pure and all holy. There is no sin. He can’t coexist with sin. He is perfect and pure and holy and he desires for us to be with him, but there’s no way to do that because we are sinners and you may feel today well I’m not really a sinner, I’m actually a good person, I used to think that way too, I thought I’m a pretty good person, you know, I’m kind to people and um I go to church occasionally and so I’m a pretty good person, but sin, if you have even thought poorly ever in your life about a person ever that’s called sin. And so I’m trying to help us to understand like me that we all have sin on us, we’re all sinners and so we can’t get to be with God in heaven because of that, that separates us. So there’s a big separation between us and our holy God and so jesus made a way it was his plan from the very beginning to make a way for us sinners to be with him in heaven. And that way was through his son, his one and only son, no other son. His son, jesus And the plan God’s plan, God in heaven’s plan was for jesus to die a horrific death on across. And I’m sure you’ve heard about it or seen the movies of it. It’s horrific what he went through and not only the physical pain of what he went through the spiritual because he took all the sin that you and I from that we will ever commit in all of our lives from the beginning to the end of our life. And God, the father put it on his son, jesus on the death of that cross. He was the only one, the only one that could pay that penalty of sin. And the bible says the wages of sin is death. So the only thing we promised was sin on us is death. But thanks be to God because of his plan of taking that sin. Our sin, all of our sin putting it on jesus, having him die on the cross to be raised on the third day so that you and I can now be cleaned off. We can be pure white as snow. The bible says as we put our trust in jesus. So in um john three chapter three verses 16 write this down, John chapter three verse 16 for God God, so loved the world that he gave his one and only son. That whoever believes in him, whoever believes in him will not perish, not go to death but have everlasting life. And don’t you want that, my dear listeners today, don’t you want that in your life? And if you’ve not done that today, this moment right now is the time for you, Jesus says, put me in the driver’s seat of your life because I want you to be with me. I’ve come to give you abundant life. The Bible says in John 1010 here on Earth. So as you, as you put him in the driver’s seat of your life and let me let me give you a prayer that you can pray to put him in the driver’s seat of your life. Dear jesus, I have seen in my life, I never realized the sin in my life that I’ve had and I want to put you jesus in the driver’s seat. I want you to take over my life. You’re the one who created every cell in my body. You’re the one who’s given me the instruction manual for living this life giving uh love letter that you have given us Lord. So I want to learn it. I want to know all about it. I want to experience you. I want to bring you happiness and happiness to me. I want to have that peace that passes all understanding that can only God come through you. Please save me father in jesus name. If you’ve prayed that prayer then you, my friend are a child of God right now like that because that’s what God does. We don’t do it, it’s not about the prayer, it’s about what he does, he makes himself known through his savior, son, jesus. And so jesus died on that cross for us. And then on the third day he rose so that you and I can have that relationship that we so long for that hole in our heart that we feel gets filled up now so fully. And all of a sudden we have purpose. We have purpose now in our life because we are his and every person that that has come to him and put him in the driver’s seat where he is now their savior has been given purpose in their life. Good works too accomplished through him. And I’m so excited about that. I live for that and I hope you do too. So we realized that this that we needed a bridge. So here we are, here’s God, the father in heaven, all holy and pure and the bridge was jesus and it was through his death. That’s why easter is so exciting for us because we realize our God is not dead, he’s alive, he’s alive and he cares about everything going on in our life. In fact more than that he’s actually involved in it. Were playing out his playbook, I said I love that part too because there’s none of me, it’s all of him. And so I want to look at, I’m gonna look at first Corinthians chapter 15 versus 1 to 11 1st this is Saul who became paul and it says now brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel, I preached to you. That’s what I just shared. I just shared with you the good news of the Gospel which you received and on which you have taken your stand by this gospel, you are safe. That’s you audience. If you have prayed that prayer, you are his today, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you, otherwise you have believed in vain. So God is asking us now to walk in faith of what he asked us to do for what I received. I passed on to you as a first importance that christ died for our sins according to the scriptures that he was buried. That he was raised on the third day according to the scriptures And that he appeared to Caiaphas and then to the 12 and after that he appeared to more than 500 of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living though some have fallen Asleep then he appeared to James then to all the apostles and last of all he appeared to me also As to one abnormally born for I am the least of the apostles, I don’t even deserve to be called an apostle because I persecuted the Church of God. See my friend, it doesn’t matter where you come from, it doesn’t matter what sin you had in your life. God brings he, that’s why his son died for those sins. But by the grace of God I am what I am and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them yet not I, but the grace of God was in me whether then it is I or they, this is what we preach and this is what you believed. And so today, my friend I I have brought jesus to you today. I’m the one today bringing to you to my audience today. And so we’re gonna go to acts chapter two will you come with me? If you have a bible, you don’t have to, you can just sit and listen. Acts chapter two when I get there, I don’t know if I’ll ever get there. I make it there, just hang with me as I find it. Here it is X Chapter two. Here we go, this is this, you will definitely want to highlight X chapter two versus 22 to 24. We like to talk about the roman soldiers who were so evil that put jesus on that cross and tortured him and all the flogging and all of that. But really it’s as if jobs life, you know it was, it was satan was allowed, but jesus was jesus plan, jesus idea all along God the father’s plan. God the father’s idea all along. And we want to remember that in our lives that nothing escapes God, nothing is out of his realm. He is involved in all of it. Even the hardest, most difficult time of our lives In our example is Jesus. So this is acts chapter two. I’m going to start at verse 22, this is peter speaking, fellow Israelites listen to this, jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. Now listen, verse 23, this man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and for knowledge and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross. So God’s pre planned for knowledge, um idea, for lack of a better word for you and for me. But God, but God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death because it was the plan because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him and it goes on and on. But the point about that is to remember that even in those horrific times, the horrific times of our life, God has not left us, he may be weeping with us, but he has a plan in what is going on. And so we can bow our heads and know that it’s already written in his book, Someone 39 16 says it’s already done. And so by your heads, he will take care of you as you walk through whatever you’re walking through in your life and we can take courage. Why? Because Jesus actually went to the cross. He was a man like you and I, he went to the cross, he was able to do it. God raised him from the dead. And now, you know where he says, he sits with God the father. That plan is for you and I to and so keep that on the forefront of your mind. Job 36 15 and 16 from the book of Job jobs, heartache of all his life. It says that God is delivering us and God is speaking to us in our afflictions. He’s delivering us in our affliction, he’s wooing us to the the a spacious place that’s not so difficult. And this is the way to get there, That spacious place, that table laden with choice, food is for you, it is coming. And so let us not live in misery in our minds today, but put on that hope that he wants us to have because today Jesus is risen and he hasn’t left you. I’m gonna pray for us. Lord jesus, thank you, Thank you for your word, Thank you for who you are. Thank you for having your son a miracle of all miracles to die on that cross to be risen on the third day. Thank you, jesus for that. Thank you for saving our souls. Thank you that we can know you as well as we do for my audience who have now prayed that prayer, Lord, will you bring your ministering angels around them? Will you bring your word to them? Will you bring people who know you and love you to come hold them today? Lord, please father, will you do that? We trust you. Trust you. Trust you for it in jesus name.
